We require 2 full time Instructors to begin work ASAP in 2019.
CMC Adventure is an outdoor activity centre situated within the Snowdonia National Park, set against the stunning backdrop of the Rhinog Mountain Range. The centre is on the waterfront, enabling water sport activities to take place on-site and we are within walking distance of Llandanwg beach. The Centre has a 52-year heritage of providing quality multi-activity residentials for people looking to experience the amazing countryside on the Welsh coast.
What we’re looking for:
You will hold 2 of the following qualifications as a minimum:
• ML Summer
• BCU UKCC Level 1
You must be willing to work towards developing skills in another discipline, if you do not hold all 3 qualifications. It is desirable that you have 3* Sea Kayak and D1 Minibus Entitlement as well however, training and assessment for these two qualifications can be provided by the Centre after appointment for the right candidate.
Additional Qualifications, e.g. APIOL/RPIOL/RYA Dinghy Instructor, are an advantage.
The successful candidate is likely to have gained significant experience post-NGB qualifications. Experience in successfully training trainee instructors is highly desirable.
We are looking for someone with a passion for the outdoors, strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, compassion and understanding for your guests and colleagues, and the ability to adapt to different circumstances.
The successful candidate will be keen to share their Christian faith through the medium of outdoor education and will be willing to be involved in all aspects of Centre life. For this post, it is important that you are committed to CMC Adventure’s Christian ethos, working principles and vision and are able to demonstrate this through your commitment, motivation and service. It is therefore an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
What you can expect from us:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our energetic and dedicated team at CMC Adventure. Teamwork is at the centre of everything we do here, and our primary aim is to enable as many people as possible to get out and enjoy the great outdoors, doing activities they may not usually have the opportunity to try. This means we are looking for someone who is able to build positive working relationships and is keen to be involved with the team’s social side as well.
Usually, you will work a 5-day week; leading activity sessions, training and supporting our trainee instructors, helping to maintain our equipment and lending a hand on change overs. You will also have 30 days holiday: 10 days in low season, 10 days in high season and 10 days over Christmas.
We are very keen to support the development our staff members, so any training or courses that would be mutually beneficial to you and the Centre would be fully funded by CMC Adventure, at the Centre Director's discretion.
