Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers have been a huge part of the vision and mission of CMC Adventure since the very beginning in 1966. Volunteers truly enhance what we are able to offer our guests and bring the extra pairs of hands and feet needed each season to ensure that the centre runs smoothly.

We have 2 different types of volunteer positions on the staff team.

Volunteer Trainee Instructors

A volunteering opportunity to help you get into a career in the outdoors, whilst at the same time investing in a Christian Charity and serving others through the life enriching work of CMC Adventure! This is an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic Christian people aged 18+ to join our team for 2 years. The programme involves getting immersed into all aspects of centre life and aims to give you the skills and qualifications needed to become an employable outdoor instructor at the end of the 2 years.

Find out more information on the Trainee Instructor pages.

Hospitality and Catering Volunteers

For those of you who are more interested in the hospitality and catering side of things, we would love to hear from you too!

Our Hospitality and Catering Volunteers provide us with an extra pair of hands to help in the kitchens and the buildings. There are no words to describe the amazing people who offer their time to help prepare meals, wash up and clean. This is a behind the scenes role where a little help goes a very long way and most importantly shows God’s love to our guests.

The role mainly involves helping prepare the centres for guests, assisting the chefs in the kitchens, and keeping the centres clean and tidy whilst groups are staying. Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you are making an amazing difference to someone’s day!

We will provide you with all the necessary training to be able to undertake the role of Hospitality and Catering volunteer. In addition, you will be able to enjoy spending time in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains, and just a few minutes from the beach. There will also be opportunities to go out and enjoy some of the activities if you would like to.

Between March and October is our busy season when extra help is gratefully appreciated.

Whether you are able to offer a couple of weeks to help us wash up, or you are available to come and join us for a few months, please get in touch!

We provide the necessary training, board and lodging for all of our volunteers.

One of CMC Adventure’s charitable objectives is “to advance the Christian Faith” (Mem and Arts), written in 1966 when the Charity was set up. This objective remains unchanged, and our Vision today is “to encourage young people and adults to develop an awareness of the wonders of God’s creation and to explore the Christian faith through exciting and challenging outdoor activities.”

It is therefore an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act – part 1, schedule 9), for all our volunteers and permanent members of staff to be a committed Christian and sign a Statement of Faith.
